Certification & Quality
FMVSS 302 certification & in-house lab testing.
Every batch of Tjikko polyurethane foam is tested in our in-house chemical laboratory — density, ILD hardness, and compression set. FMVSS 302 fire resistance certification is available for automotive molded foam.
Automotive standard
FMVSS 302
FMVSS 302 (Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 302) is the flammability standard for motor vehicle interior materials — it limits the maximum horizontal burn rate of materials used in the passenger cabin. The standard is a common requirement across OEM and Tier-1/Tier-2 automotive seating supply chains.
What Tjikko provides
Tjikko’s molded foam line is capable of meeting FMVSS 302. Our in-house chemical testing laboratory tests formulations and verifies compliance on every batch. Certification documentation is issued on request for automotive seating orders — alongside the per-batch density and ILD test report.
For specific OEM requirements, send your technical specification and our team will confirm formulation feasibility before production.
In-house laboratory
Every batch tested. Every order documented.
Our Parung Panjang, Bogor factory operates its own chemical testing laboratory. Testing is not outsourced — results ship with every order.
| Parameter | Method / Standard | Frequency |
|---|---|---|
| Density (kg/m³) | Gravimetric measurement, D10–D90 grades | Every production batch |
| ILD hardness | Indentation Load Deflection, R40–R90 | Every production batch |
| Compression set | ISO 1856 — 70% compression, 22 hours | Per specification |
| Flammability | FMVSS 302 — horizontal burn rate | Automotive orders, on request |
| Dimensional check | Physical verification against drawing | All pieces before dispatch |
